Curriculum and Key Stages
At Agora Príncipes Infant School and Agora Granada College International School we teach all levels of education from Infant Education to Baccalaureate.
Throughout the different educational stages, pupils achieve an excellent breadth and depth of knowledge, develop physical, intellectual and emotional growth and master at least two languages. They also develop the way they analyse and present information, the evaluation and argumentation of ideas, creative problem solving, the ability to retain acquired knowledge, the level of understanding of key concepts and the application of standardised methods.
Infant Education
Infant Education is a key stage in the learning process, as it lays the foundations for later academic life. At this early age, children begin their development (emotional, physical, social, cognitive) and early stimulation enables the multiplication of neuronal connections. At this stage we focus on learning English, art, emotional intelligence and creative play.
The first cycle is carried out entirely at Agora Príncipes Infant School and the second cycle is carried out partly at Príncipes and the last year of the second cycle at Agora Granada College.
Primary Education
Carried out from the beginning at Agora Granada College, Primary Education is more academic in nature, and we work on the objectives and content of the different subjects in the school curriculum, as well as the essential values for a good personal development. Children strengthen their personality and master skills and knowledge related to oral expression and comprehension, reading, writing and arithmetic. They also develop social skills, work and study habits, artistic sense, creativity and affectivity. From Primary 1, 50% of the subjects are taught in English and from 3rd year onwards, French and Chinese are taught.
Secondary Education
Secondary Education is a stage where specialisation begins, in which special importance is given to artistic education, as well as the introduction of a second foreign language, with a choice between French and Chinese. We take into account the different needs of the pupils at this age and their variety of interests when choosing their future. Taking into account the diversity of our students, we seek the personal development of each student, giving them individual attention according to their needs, aptitudes and preferences.
National Baccalaureate
The Baccalaureate is designed to give students access to the university environment. At this stage, the aim is to achieve intellectual and personal maturity in order to face adult life with greater guarantees of success. The school's objective at this stage is twofold: on the one hand, we offer the pupils a high academic level, so that they obtain the best possible results in the University Entrance Exams (PAU) and, on the other hand, we train people capable of successfully facing the demanding level of university studies.
International Baccalaureate
At Agora Granada College International School we offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) from the 22-23 school year. This prestigious programme is recognised throughout the world for its high quality education, encouraging and developing an international mindset and a positive attitude to learning. With the International Baccalaureate, students will be able to complete their entire pre-university stage in our school by finishing their studies with the highest international projection, which will allow them to access Universities in Europe and beyond.
