STEAM: Science and Arts
Science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics play a crucial part in every student´s learning journey. At Agora Granada College International School, we embed creativity in all activities related to these subjects, helping students learn how to make connections, how to organise their ideas, how to be creative, how to make decisions and how to work together across different disciplines.
Pedagogical approach
Artists and scientists share the same skills and abilities, which is why in Agora Granada College International School we give a leading role to all the subject areas that comprise them. For this reason, we work with LEGO® Education SPIKE ™ Prime to provide our students with the best learning skills in programming and robotics. Thanks to the software and activities adapted to the needs of our students and the specific training of our teachers, they are able to learn the tools with which they need to advance in the exciting and intuitive world of different programming languages.
Music and the expressive arts are key to children's all-round development: they bring enormous cognitive and personal benefits, as well as enhancing their communication skills. Music education favours the development and improvement of special talents, along with values such as effort and self-improvement, sensitivity, organisation and teamwork. Agora Granada College has music, plastic arts, technology and technical drawing classrooms.
Our pupils are introduced to music in a sensory way in the Infant Education stage and this knowledge is deepened throughout Primary Education, encouraging them to have constant contact with music.
The creative and performing arts are also of great importance in the integral education of pupils, enhancing their intellectual capacities. Through art, children think for themselves and develop their creativity, imagination, artistic sensitivity and emotions. Thanks to the creative arts we promote creativity, discipline and also personal and team work.
Finally, the Public Speaking classes develop communication skills for public speaking and debating in Spanish and English so that they develop into confident, organised and respectful conversationalists.
