Inauguration of our athletics track

Last Thursday 7th March, Agora Granada College International School experienced an exciting milestone in its history with the inauguration of the new athletics track. Present at the opening of the event was our Head of School Javier Jiménez, along with the distinguished presence of the Mayoress of Atarfe, Yolanda Fernández, who is also a PE teacher, as well as the participation of the renowned sprinter from Granada, Dani Rodríguez, six times Spanish champion in the 200 metres, among other achievements.

The ceremony began with the cutting of the inaugural ribbon, after a few brief words from the guests to the more than 500 students who were present. Afterwards, the pupils who take part in our extracurricular athletics activity demonstrated their talent and dedication with an exciting relay race, in which teams of various ages, from 5 to 12 years old, competed with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

In addition to the relays, several sprint races were held on the 50 metre track, where the students showed off their speed and athletic prowess. But the real excitement came when Dani Rodríguez joined in the action competing with both pupils and teachers, inspiring everyone with his talent and modesty

At Agora Granada College International School, sport is one of the five fundamental pillars on which the education we offer our pupils is built.

The opening ceremony of the athletics track not only marked a milestone in the school's sporting infrastructure, but was also a moment to remember, full of emotions, companionship and the indomitable spirit of sport.
